Fatal error: Call to undefined function in the ListView.php

A fatal error is produced whenever the search bloc of any module is used.
I have this type of error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: generate_search_where() in the ListView.php of the used module.
It's then impossible to use the search bloc, and once the search term is stored, the entire module becomes impossible to use.

I made a search and can not find any issue about this error in this forum.

My configuration:

PHP Version 4.4.2
Sugar Version 4.2.1a
MySQL Version: 3.23.43

I'm using a shared hosting and can not change the phpinfo file.
