Default FC6: Error: Could not connect to the Sugar Server.

I just installed on a new, clean Fedora Core 6 box. Apart from the standard (for me by now) installs such as mb characters, install was simple.

But I see this when running sugar:

Error: Could not connect to the Sugar Server. Please check your Proxy Settings value in the System Settings admin panel.

I am not using a proxy. The database is fine. What am I doing wrong / how do I fix this? Ideas welcome!

I had faced a similar problem. Actually many times. What I do now is create a new user after logging in as admin. Then logout and login with the new user created. This solves my problem.

    Hope this helps.

Yes, I can do that - but the next morning I once again need to:

    - log in as that user
    - see the error message (though everything works fine)
    - log out
    - log in again, still as that same user

    And then everything is OK.

This is a major bug, since my users see it.

By the way, since this is an official eval to determine whether we buy sugar (the Professional version), I am puzzled by Sugar's response to me of "we do not support the OSS version". Do they not WANT to sell?
