Default A few questions after just installing this awesome product

    Hi Folks,

I must admit i'm blown away by this great product. I have to start calling a bunch of companies and this is perfect for logging all calls with notes and tasks.

I can see myself saving a lot of time using this great product. That being said i have a few questions:

    1. Are there any comparison table that shows the difference between the, community edition, professional and enterprise. The fact that the community edition is free is what makes me use this system. But later on i'll might be interested in purchasing the other products, but i can't find a place to view an easy overview of this.

    2. When using the community edition, does that mean its free with all the features in comes from now till eternity? I just want to make sure that its not a trial and it will expire on me so i'm forced to purchase it, when i can't afford maybe?

    3. When using the task feature to assign tasks to different users i can't seem to figurer out to assign one task or project to several users? I can assign tasks and projects to one user, but what if i need to assign one task or project to multiple users? Like a shared task. Thats a feature i really need to replace this system with my current.

    4. Is it possible to create recurring tasks. I would like to create a task to be done every Monday in the week or other specific dates. Thats also a very important feature i need to replace this system with my current.

I really appriciate your help and support here in the forum community!
    Thanks

It is completely free for you to use for as many users as you like. No expiration, usage restrictions, etc.

You can't assign to more than one user, that is a feature of Pro/Enterprise only (via Teams). But there is a module that mimics some of that behavior which you can download for free at this location: http://www.sugarforge.org/projects/teams-open-src/

No, this is not a feature of any of the editions.

    Hi Angel,

Thank you so much for your reply. That was very helpful for me.
Haha... no i'm not Leo Beenhakker... But i get a kick out of that name, So i can help using it here and there
Do you by any chance know a good place to look to try and learn what all these features is about?

    Like:
    Accounts
    Campaigns
    Leads
    Opportunities
    Cases

I want to add a contact to my contactlist. Why can't i add a business / company to the contact? Is that something to do with accounts? or just that i'm using the community edition?

Thanks again angel for all your help.

    Aloha,
    Leo

    Hi Leo -

A couple good resources for you to learn more about Sugar.

For a quick overview of the functionality, I suggest reading through the Product Capabilities section of this website.

For more in-depth tutorials on how to actually use the product, I suggest working through Sugar University.

    Regards,
