field level edit permissions screwing up Create lead

Hi,

We use Sugar Pro 5.2. We have a sales manager and a sales Rep. The sales manager wants to assign leads to the sales Rep. We don't want the rep to be able to change the "Assigned To" or "Team" for the lead. So I put the rep under a role that had "Read Only" for these two fields for the Edit permission. This works fine. However, we want the rep to be able to create leads of her own. When she goes to Create Lead, the form shows assigned To as her username and Team as her private Team. That's fine. However when she submits the create form. She gets an error "You do not have access to this area. Contact your site administrator to obtain access." The lead is never created.

What's going on here?

Hi SugarHero,

Iam using sugarCRM CE 5.5. Iam also facing the same problem that for a particular role am setting a field (User Assigned) no access with the help of Field Level Access setting.

So its not displaying the field in editview and detailview as per my field control setting.But its displaying the field in create lead page. How to disable that bcoz it has to be show in another role.Can u help me out..
