Filter contacts on Account properties for mailmerge

Hi,

I would like to do a mail merge based on the contacts module but it's necessary to filter these contacts based upon an account property (we want to do different mailings based on accounts).

Can this be done? Running SugarCRM OS 4.2.0d

I'm currently considering a reporter module like Kinamu, but I'm not sure yet what to expect of such a tool.

4.2 is a stretch ... I would consider an upgrade or rather new install.

A tool like the KINAMU reporter or the reporting in Sugar PRO will support you in selection of contacts, Accounts, Leads to assign them to a target list. Those target lists you can use in your campaigns.

Just to be clear. We're trying to select contacts based on accounts properties. e.g. all contacts that belong to accounts with account type "newspaper". Or something like that.

We are trying to do this as well in the Sugar Community Edition v6.2.3. It sounds like this is just left out as a incentive to upgrade to PRO. Is this everyone's understanding here and are there any open source modules that fill this void?
