Default Filtering tasks based on "Creator" OR "Owner"

    Hi Forum,

I have two roles, Role A and Role B.

Role A : Task Permissions are as follows.

Delete, Edit, List,View = Set to "Owner"

Role B : Task Permissions are as follows.

Delete = "None", Edit, List,View = Set to "Owner"

A user belong to Role B creates and assigns a Task to a user in Role A.

Now I want the users belong to Role A to see (List and View ONLY) the Tasks "Created by" them or assigned to them.
But since the Role permission has been set to "Owner", the creator cannot see (List or View) the Tasks created by him.

Please help me in setting Role permissions (or another way) of Listing and Viewing the Tasks based on "Creator" OR "Owner".

    eg 1.

I want to see what are the tasks "Created by" me AND "Assigned" to (by me or ANY other) another user.
I should NOT see (List or Edit) the tasks not created by me or not assigned to me.

    Thanks
    Berny

I don't know what edition of sugar you are using, but if you have Pro or Enterprise there is another level of security called Teams that will solve this problem.

Roles are designed for entire module permissions. sortof like saying all (all recors, or all records owned, etc.)

Teams on the other hand are designed to allow for records to be viewable by individuals belonging to a team. Role B could assign a record to Role A and still see the record if a team that Role B is on has access to a record.

when you create a user by defult an individual team is created consisting of just that user and their manager. this will allow for records to be viewable by a select number of people. you can also assign a record to multiple teams.

Teams and role security can work in conjunction with each other to deliver the functionality you describe in your example.

    hope this helps,
