First Time Install, Linux or Windows, Local Network or VPS

I am planning on installing and deploying SugarCRM CE, It looks like a perfect solution but I have a couple of questions which I would like to get some feedback on from existing SugarCRM Users and Admins before I install.

1. Does SugarCRM run better on Linux or Windows? I have access to either platform.

2. Is it best to install SugarCRM on the local network or on our Hosted VPS at the data center ?

Is there any advantages either way to these options.

Hi,

For your first question, SugarCRM server machine is best to run on Linux as compare to windows. Because Linux provide you more security as compare to windows.

And for the answer of you second question you asked, (local network & Hosted VPS) Its depend on you which type of work you are perform through sugarcrm. Its working good in both area. The advantage of using SugarCRM on Hosted VPS is user of sugarcrm used in anywhere in the world at any time.

We will deploy on Linux as this is also our preference.

If anybody has any additional feedback on the benefits of operation methods Local install or Hosted VPS install that would be great!
