Default Flash problem in Email Campaign

    Hi guys,

Firstly, I would like to apologize if there is an answer to this question/problem. I'm using SugarCRM version 6.0.2 (Build 4217). I have made email campaign and everything is working fine. But, when I want to view status (after sending test email), there is no flash charts displayed. Please, can someone advice me what could be wrong, maybe permission problem?

    Thank you in advance

    Hi,

Now, I have installed SugarCRM 6.2.3 (Build 6658) on server and I'm facing with same issue. When I send test emails, there is no flash charts displayed in View Status. Also, I got pop-ups with failed messages which I can't determine why... If anyone have advice, I would appreciate it.

    Thanks in advance

I'm having a similar problem - the following message is displayed:

Warning: file_get_contents(cache/xml/1_a93a11fd-85d0-c946-a2d8-4ea6837329a4.xml) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /xxxxxx/xxxxxx/xxxxxx/sugar/include/SugarCharts/JsChart.php on line 674

All folders are CHMOD to 755 or 777

    Hi,

Anyone been able to solve this problem? Im getting the exact same issue, with two warnings:
    PHP Code:
Warningfopen(cache/xml/1_a7cbd2a6-4625-e8b9-49d0-4f43615ab642.xml) [function.fopen]: failed to open streamNo such file or directory in /xxx/xxx/xxx/xxx/xxx/sugar/include/utils/sugar_file_utils.php on line 111

    Warning
file_get_contents(cache/xml/1_a7cbd2a6-4625-e8b9-49d0-4f43615ab642.xml) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open streamNo such file or directory in /xxx/xxx/xxx/xxx/xxx/sugar/include/SugarCharts/JsChart.php on line 699
The flash doesnt show, so no campaign status can be viewed. This is an old thread, but if someones figured out what the problem is, I'd appreciate your sharing it. Thanks in advance.

Flash uses a lot of special embed codes. The email function is probably eating the flash embedding.

Other issues you see with trying to email flash: Some email clients might not even recognize or be able to process Flash. Anyone using an iPad or iPhone, for example is straight out. Try using a JPG or PNG in stead, especially for something static like chart....

These types of issues are almost always due to permissions problems. See here: Angel's Blog: SugarCRM Troubleshooting: Formatting Woes

Side note: I did take note of the tidbit indicating permissions had been set to 755 and 777. Note that unless they are set recursively, the problem would persist even with those settings.

Thanks for your replies. After a lot of looking around the code and going through many threads, I came to realize that my cache directory didn't have an xml directory, and it wasn't being created either. I deleted cache and tried again, everything was rebuilt, except for an xml directory. Once I created it myself and set permissions to 777, charts started working fine. Now charts are showing both on the dashboard and in campaigns.

However, now I have a new issue. The dashboard charts have working drilldown links, which open up searches with correct parameters. But the chart in campaign status view shows the dialog "click to drilldown" on hovering on the bars, but clicking doesn't do anything. Plus, campaign returning emails aren't being handled properly, it seems. It catches the errors(invalid addresses, returns etc), but not replies. I'm not sure how a reply should be handled, so cant say whats wrong there, but the campaign chart drilldown is crucial as I cant see which targets did what. Any ideas would be appreciated.
