    Default Follow Up Plans

I am shopping CRM solutions and I came across Sugar. I like the presentation of the software however it is lacking one major thing I would need. Follow up action plans. I see there is a way to create campaigns within Sugar but it does not look capable of doing what I need.

Basically I need a campaign that will add mail "to do's" and/or call "to do's" to a lead, contact, opportunity, etc as well as automatic email drip campaigns. I need the functionality to have multiple of each.

What do you think my best avenue for a solution is? a custom package or just an add on?

    Any insight would be appreciative.

Well, SugarCRM as an application rather than extensible and flexible. So you may ask some developer or software company to create needed enhancements and/or modifications to a system.

One of the biggest challenges with any CRM is understanding all that it can do. Like you, I first looked for specific functions and saw it lacking. But then I took the time to understand what it did as well as the how and why. By understanding the design, I was able to achieve our objectives. I found it beneficial to accomplish them a different way than we first envisioned, but it works very well.

Invest the time and you will get tremendous return.

Thanks for the two previous replies.. I understand and agree with both. At this point, time is abviously an issue. So let me ask you this. In the campaign section is it possible to create a campaign that will tell set a task to perform a mailer on the 1st of the month, every month for a year?

Or is it capable of creating a telemarketing campaign that schedule weekly, monthly, or quarterly calls for certain contacts?

Or is this something that I am going to have to have built and added?
