Global Search disregards permissions

Hi all,

When any of my users do a global search, they get see all records in the database, not just the ones assigned for them to see. For instance, one of my users will (correctly) see 5 contacts in the contacts modules, but 2000 contacts when they do a global search.

Is there any way to fix this, or at least turn off global search for certain users?

I'm running sugar 5.5.0 with the securitysuite module installed.

Hello,

In list view, you filter records by My items, so you are getting only records which are assigned to the user. And it is not the same for global search.

To do that, create a Role for users to allow them to see records belongs to them only, which is same than My items but it is applied to global search too!

Thank you for your reply. However, the restriction is in fact set in roles, and the role I'm looking at is set to only show those records assigned to the user. In, for instance, the contacts module, normal users only see contacts assigned to them regardless of whether they check the 'only show my items' box or not. However in global search, the user sees all records, not just those assigned to him.
