I'm relatively new to sugar (6.2). In the beginning searching for the best solution for our team I felt comfortable giving a try to this product and understood it will take me some time to lean it in order to properly take advantage of it. If I were to consider going with the PRO version for 20-30 users I want to be sure it is the right product for us and support it provides, considering we will have to pay 12 month ahead x $360/per user in advance = minimum of $7,200+ (not even being sure, if it is worth the money). I have noticed majority of the important questions are left being unanswered, no moderators assistance what so ever. I feel more and more going with paid solution (other product then sugar) VS hiring SugarCRM consultants for helping us to answer or simply help us with the tasks we want to achieve. It seems like building a house on sand!
After doing reviews on forums it looks like SugarCRM team is pushing toward consulting at $250/hour to answer any questions that might arise or provide solutions.....I must add for the very basic ones. The forum seems like it does not even have a support line, all answers are being shared user to user or very vaguely answered. A simple question sometimes takes months even years to be answered.
I fully understand and support that the company has to make money after investing the time, effort and money, however it seems there are no moderators to at least advise of simple matters unless you pay directly to SugarCRM PRO. At the same time one of our consultants using the PRO version has no idea why was the portal module has been removed from 6x version of SugarCRM and no one of the moderators can simply explain the logic behind it or at lease help out other users. What a shame!!!
Is "My Portal" functionality is still available or not ? Or how we can implement is in 6.2 edition?? Can someone shade a light at least on one of my questions?????????
