Going from Local to LDAP Accounts

Hello, everyone!

I am currently using local accounts in SugarCRM CE. I would like to configure LDAP but was wondering what happens when the LDAP user is the same as the local user.

For example, let's say I currently have a user in SugarCRM whose login name is jsmith. This user's name in the LDAP directory is also jsmith; once I configure LDAP, will SugarCRM make the link when the user authenticates? He'll login using his LDAP username and password, but will everything in SugarCRM still be linked to his ID?

Yes !
When the Username of sugar is the same than LDAP ( uid ) it's in Sugar the same user.
But, if you are again the password inside sugar and someone enter the password sugar and not ldap, the bind will be succeed.

What happened ?

- I try the password that is my LDAP...
- If succeed OK
- If not I try the Sugar Password
- if succeed ok

So if you want that is only the LDAP password you want as main and the one, you should change the sugar password by the value NULL.
