Default Google Calendar or iCal Capability?

Hello. I've searched, and read, quite a few posts. But I'm a little confused. Simply: I'm running v5.0 of SugarCRM. I utilize Google Apps for my Domain. I need to be able to somehow add a meeting into Sugar and have it go to either Google Calendar or iCal (obviously, I'm on a Mac) so that I can sync it to my iPhone. It appears that I'm out of luck but before looking to another CRM option I wanted to find out for sure.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I've been doing something similar for about 6 months now, so stick with it...

I'm not one of the Sugar experts, but here is what I have done to get it working:

    1. Install the ical patch from Sugarforge http://www.sugarforge.org/projects/icalpatch/
    2. Configure it through 'my acount' in Sugar so you have your full calendar published online. Make sure the password you choose is not the same as your login password, as it is passed over the net in clear text
    3. Note the full URL of your published calendar (but see note below)
    3. Subscribe to that Calendar from Outlook. I would assume that Apple, being in every way superior to Microsoft ;-), have implemented the same capability in iCal.

Note: With the version I am using, the URL published in 'my account' which you subscribe to has a couple of errors in it. When you key the calendar's URL into Outlook/iCal make the following fixes (see example URL below)
    1) between 'vcal_server.php' and 'type=' there needs to be a '?' not a '/'
    2) type needs to be 'ics' (without the quote marks)

    mydomain.com/vcal_server.php/type=vfb&email=mymail@mydomain.com&source=outlook& key=mypassword

Let us know how you get on,

    Philip

I installed the patch as mentioned. However, when I try to read the data, I get nothing back. If I replace the isc by vfb, I do get some data, but nothing otherwise.

Any idea what could be causing this?

    Thanks,

    L

Could you display the calendar in Google Apps? I was able to show it nicely in Thunderbird but Google did like me for some time but stopped doing so after a while.
