Group Tabs not showing up correctly.

I'm using Version 4.5.0f (Build 1202).

I am able to configure the group tabs, (I added a group and re-ordered them), and press "Save & Publish". I get no errors.
However, the tabs at the top do not reflect my changes.

I'm using the "Sugar" theme and I've set Navigation Paradigm: to "Grouped Modules".
The tabs show up differently from when I don't specify "Grouped Modules", but they are certainly not the tab groups that I created. It seems to be a sub-set of the default groups maybe.

I have very little experience with this software so I assume I must be using it incorrectly.

Is there something else I need to do?

Ok, so I've looked at it more, and I think I can at least explain the problem a bit better now.

In the "Configure Group Tabs" area, there is a panel on the left entitled "MODULES". Naively, I assumed that the items listed below this label would be modules! Apparently, this is not exactly true. It, instead, seems to be a list of modules, shortcuts, and "fake modules" which are a collection of shortcuts from other modules. Would have been nice to know this to start. (Assuming I'm right about this).

The problem seems to be that you can't create a "Group tab" which just contains a shortcut. So say you create a tab called "Blah" and put only the "module" (not really a module) called "tasks" in it. Low and behold, the new tab called "Blah" doesn't show up. In fact, the only way to get the tab to show up seems to be to add some "real" module to it that already contains the shortcut to "task". ie. if I include the "calender" module, magically, the tab shows up, and I have the "tasks" shortcut (amongst others).

These "Group tabs" aren't as useful, it seems, as I first thought they'd be.

If anyone could give me a list of the default modules, which ones are real modules, which are shortcuts, which are collections of shortcuts, and just generally which shortcuts belong to which modules, that would really help. Right now, it's a trial and error approach when making group tabs since I can't find anything in the docs which says who belongs to what module.

I feel your pain, Clearwater. You seem to be doing better than I am. I can't get Tasks, Calls, or Meetings to show-up at all. You said you were able to get Tasks to display. What was the trick?

One of my daily annoyances with Sugar is the inability to get directly to calls or meetings. I thought grouped tabs was going to fix this, but it doesn't appear so.

I seem to have lost most of my tabs. Can't ad them in as admin. This may very well be my fault, I've been fighting with a tricky server migration.

Anyone have any idea how to get the tabs back? They are not available to the admin.

EDIT: I can confirm the lost tabs were as a result of applying th SugarOS patch 4.5.0g - I noticed that I still have the browser open from that session and the tabs appear in it immediatley after the update was applied. I can only assume that once i re-logged in was when this changed.

I checked my modules.php file and it looks ok - I even used an old backup to check. I need to be up and running by Monday. Hope someone has some tips!

EDIT2: Looks like Rebuild Relationships in the Admin Repair menu did the trick.

Did you get a solution by chance? I have EXACTLY the same problem right now. Everything in Group Tabs works, but I cannot get Tasks, Calls, Meetings or Notes to show up at all.

You are not doing anything wrong - it is a bug - just needs to be fixed.
