hangs on login screen

This has happened twice, sugar will not let anyone log in. When we click the login button, it says loading for an indefinite amount of time. I've had one running for about 20 minutes with no timeouts and no login. In firefox, the tab says "Loading..." and the status bar says "Waiting for domain.com..."

The previous time this happened, we just ignored it for the day and it worked the next time we tried it.

Any ideas on what's hanging it up? Could it be the automatic update checks? How can I disable parts without loging in?

Here's some more info, when I left it for lunch I came back to about 150 lines of

and then at the end there was a

PHP has encountered a Stack overflow

and two more copies of the above two lines.



Then, the last couple of times I refreshed I got this:

PHP has encountered an Access Violation at 7C84E9AF

I've seen this access violation line a number of times before, but it always went away with a single refresh, now that doesn't seem to be the case. To my knowledge, nothing has changed on the server since Friday and Sugar was working fine on Friday.

In case anybody else runs into this, I upgraded to php 5.2.6 and it seems to have fixed the problem. I'll edit this post if I see it again.
