Default Having issue with deleting and user login

    Hi all,

First, I am issue when a user trying to login and having error: You must specify a valid username and password. I know for sure the password is correct and still cannot login.

Second. How do i delete a user account or employee? I checked the box next to the username and there is no Delete options listed.

Third. When I login (admin), and click on Employees, there is only 15 user listed and I know I have about 21 users using the SugarCRM.

Can someone please help me with my problem/issues?

    Current Version 5.2.0a (Build 5447)
    OS: Linux CentOS

    Thank you very much.

    Hi Johnny,

Verify the username and password you are using. If you have an admin password of another user that does work, you can go into the admin area and under User Management, you can reset the password for this user. If this is the admin login that you are having problems with, then you can reset it in the database.

Second. How do i delete a user account or employee? I checked the box next to the username and there is no Delete options listed.
You cannot delete users from the system, but you can change the status to inactive. The notion behind this is that if a user created, modified, or had records assigned to them, then you would lose this historical data. If you really want to delete a user, you will need to do it in the database. Employee records are automatically created when you create a user, but can also be created on their own. These will also need to be deleted from the database if you do not just want to change the status.

Third. When I login (admin), and click on Employees, there is only 15 user listed and I know I have about 21 users using the SugarCRM.
Try clicking the clear button in the search panel. Maybe it is filtering by something. Also check to see if the 'extra' users are marked as 'Group User'. A group user is automatically created when you set up an inbound email. Portal users can also be created. Both of these types of users appear in the User Management area, but are not valid users that can log into the system. These do not get created in the Employees area

    - Yes Username and Password is 100% correct. example- username: testuser password: pass12345. I still cannot login. Even thought the password has been reset to something else. Cannot login still. How do you reset the password in database?

    - How do you delete a user in the database? Can you or someone show the cmd how to do it?

    - I have already done the Clear and still only 15 user listed. But when I create a new user, there is more then 15. I wonder is there anywhere I need to specifically need to enter how many user I want to be on the system?

    Please help.

    Hi JohnnyRock,

    1. Why don't you reset the password for your employee as the Admin user. Just edit their employee profile and click the Reset Password tab.

    2. I'm using version 2.1.5 and when I view my Employees as the Admin, I see a "Delete" tab.

    3. Regarding the number of Employees, have you tried recreating the missing ones and see if they show up properly? Maybe the original Create process didn't complete properly.

    Hope this helped.
    Good luck,
    azurelink
