having issues with creating new user???

hey guys, i just installed sugarCrm on our webserver hosted with mediatemple? 1st question, is this a good idea to install and have a webserver hosting a crm Db?

next now that i have installed the software, i would like to create new users, so in my attempts i access the admin panel and configure an account ie test_account. im able to configure the account however when i try to login under this account with the credentials i have specified, im unable to login, i get an user / pass error that indicates that i have something incorrect?


could this have anything to do with the fact that i dont have field avail in my db to allow for these changes? or when sugar is installed doesnt it overwrite and configure mysql or whatever db with the appropriate fields to respond to user input via the gui frontend?

please any guidance is greatly appreciated... ty andrew

hi andrew,

i think you would have selected Group User or Portal Only User

edit the user detail & uncheck these too under User Settings
