Help : Account / Opportunity lists not showing

I recently installed the sugarCRM latest version on win2003 server IIS 6.0 MySQL , php 5.2.3 options
Installation went fine,

Able to add account and view the data in MySQL database
select * from accounts
select * from opportunities

work fine and give me the accounts / opportuniites

However when i log in to the http://localhost:8877/ which is the place where my sugar crm is running

I cannot see the opportunities in the opportunities tab under opportunities list
same problem with accounts under accounts list

When I search for them nothing shows up


However when I use the global search at the top right hand corner, the results show up

i.e Opportuniite (2)
Accounts (1)

but I have no way to get to these from the search results page as there are no hyperlinks to them

Here is some additional information. Looks like the search / advanced search for most of my tabs is not returning any rows that populates the list even though the data is in the database.

The items for which the middle tab list is not populated is

Opportunities, accounts, leads, contacts


Employees is the only search list that seems to work.


Any suggestions ?

What happens if you hit the Search "Clear" button? Could be a cached search I guess.

Also, do you have any access restrictions setup? E.g. a user role dictating you can only see opportunities for which you are "owner" or similar?
