Help on Custom Field

Hi i using the latest version of Sugarcrm open source 4.5e, i would like to custom the Subject field of Tasks module either of the following method

1. to have a default value on the subject field is that possible? I
2. Or can change the Subject field to a drop down list instead of Text field?

Other question is anyway to print out the list of contacts?

if got other alternate way please teach me, Thank you
