Help with default and custom subpanels

I have created 3 custom modules in module builder (5.0.0e) and created relationships between them and the accounts module. I was able to create relationships both ways between the custom modules so they all show their subpanels under each other. i.e. the purchase order module has an equipment subpanel and the equipment subpanel has a purchase order and accounts subpanel. The problem is that I cannot get the equipment subpanel to show up on the accounts module. It did show up on my development server but not my production server. It seems like I may have done something after installing the module to get it to show up on the accounts but it was awhile back and I can't recall. I've tried adding an entry in subpaneldefs.php using the contacts subpanel entry as a template and then ran a quick repair.

The only difference I can think of is that my development server was a fresh 5.0.0e install and my production server is an upgrade from 4.5.1.

I also need to get rid of several subpanels under accounts such as bugs. I tried removing them from subpaneldefs.php but no matter how I do it it makes it so that I cannot move the subpanels around and I can't find any reason for that.

Well, after about the 6th re-installation (I was working on some other issues as well) the custom subpanel finally showed up under accounts, no idea how or why but I'm not arguing. However I did just stumple across this solution while searching for a solution to another problem and thought it might be helpful.
