Default help exiting edit in place mode

I'm trying to do some editing on my (relatively unused) insatllation of SugarCRM 4.2 before we decide whether or not to move the company to the product. I seem to be stuck in "edit in place" mode. For example, when I click on the "Home" tab all of the little edit-in-place boxes are present, even though I don't want them to be.

I tried getting rid of them the sensible way by going to Admin->Studio->Field Layout->Select File and then unchecking the "Edit in Place" box. Instead of simply unchecking the box, however, it automatically loads the Home tab again with the edit-in-place boxes on.

I even got my coworker to remove admint rights from my account, logged in and confirmed that the edit-in-place boxes were gone, restored my admin rights and logged back in again. The boxes were back.

So... any help on what should be an extremely simple operation: exiting edit-in-place mode?

OS: Windows Server 2003 (Small Business Server)
    Sugar Suite: 4.2
    Webserver: IIS 6
PHP Version: whatever the latest is (intalled a couple weeks ago)
    MySQL: 5

    I answered my own question.

Just had to logout and log back in.

This is fairly intuitive if you're troubleshooting, but getting out of edit-in-place mode shouldn't be a form of troubleshooting.
