Help Implementing AJAX

Hi,
I am having trouble implementing AJAX in a new module that i am creating, i am currently developing on sugarCRM version 4.2.9 i think but also i am going to port it to the latest version of sugar when the project is completed,

all i want the ajax to do is call a function on the click of a button, which will send data to the database, all of the database connections work, as i have tested it before just when the page loads, so there are no problems here. i need javascript to call the php function using ajax, but i seem to be getting problems when i use the ajax i have previously wrote.

I have wrote the AJAX code and tried it on my local computer using easy PHP, and also on my company website, My AJAX code works fine on both my locoal computer and also on the website, however, using the same code in sugar i get the fllowing error:



I believe this may be somthing to do with sugar? maybe. Is there anything i should know about implementing AJAX in sugar?
i have checked all of my files are in the right place ect and the databse passwords and all connection information are correct.
