Help Needed ASAP, Important!!!! Upgrade from 5.0beta to 5.0.0a

Hello,
I am having a problem upgrading from the beta version to 5.0a. When I check for updates it tells me that I am on the latest version. However I am still on the beta version, And when I try upgrade I get the following message

Query Failed:SELECT id FROM upgrade_history ORDER BY date_entered desc::MySQL error 2006:

My boss has asked me to upgrade from the beta. I have never used sugarcrm before and therefore have no idea what to do.

Susie Williams from sugarcrm gave me the advice to upgrade manually. Migrating my data to a copy of the GA release. Assuming I have not made any customizations to the software.

So I know what I have to do, I JUST DO NOT KNOW HOW.

Please post me some guideline to follow in order to do this!!!

My boss says I can do whatever i have to to get it upgraded!!!!!!!!

I would be grateful if someone could help me out as soon as possible

As there is no easy way to upgrade from beta, best would be:

Install a fresh 5.0.0a.
Migrate your data by exporting single tables with a tool like phpmyadmin, look if table scheme changed, and then import it to the new database with the needed adaptions.
