Help needed configuring Sugar.

Hi, I'm fairly new to SugarCRM but I am starting to get my head around it!

Just installed and setup SugarCRM CE 6.4.0

Anyway, what I need to use Sugar for is to track prospects in a telesales campaign. I want a list of fresh 'Make Initial' calls, and then once I have contacted them and either set a call back or closed the record down etc. I need to contact to disappear from the 'Make Initial' list.

All fairly straight forward really, only I have imported all my records into 'opportunities' and can't seem to get it to work as I need it to.

Should I have imported into 'leads' instead? Would that have given me the functionality I need or is there something I am overlooking?

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry about posting the same question three times in these forums - I thought something wasn't working as my posts weren't going live!

Anyway, I have figured out how to actually use SugarCRM a bit more now. I am importing data into leads and then converting it once it becomes a live prospect - is there anyway to stop this converting into an account and a contact as well though?
