    Default Help on SugarCRM configuration

    My name is Jin,

One of our clients wants to use SugarCRM for his company. We plan to implment/configurate SugarCRM 4.5.x version in WAMP enviorment.

Here’s brief summary of what Client wants in SugarCRM.

    - Studio Editable “Product” Module
    - Inventory management: Quantities of Product is automatically adjusted when sale has been made
    - Studio Editable “Invoice” Module that can specified client’s requirements

I have consulted developers and SugarCRM sales agent. They said modules we need are already available in SugarCRM professional version. They said It's pointless to develope these modules from scratch. Currently, I am looking through SugarExchange and SugarForge to find the proper modules. Can anybody give me any suggestions?

In SugarPro you already have a products module that alow you to manage the inventory. It is accessible in admin -> Product Catalog (not directly in product tab). You already have a "Quantity in Stock:" field to manage stock.
You can customize all module if you want via the studio (in admin).

    Hi SamuelAugy,

    How are you?

I know these modules are already available in Professional version. But We need to configure SugarOS (4.5.x version or 5.0 Version). Reason that our client wants to use open source version is because it’s hard to predict exact number of users of SugarCRM. The cheapest subscription (Sugar Professional On-Site) is $275 per person for 1 year. And SugarCRM requires, at least, 5 subscriptions to use their service. If some of employees quit the company during subscription period, it will be quite financial loss for Client side.

    Hi Jin,

The license is for the number of users, not the actual person who uses it. If a user leaves the company, you can disable their user account and add a new account for the new user, without buying another license.

In any case, you will need to develop the Invoices module, since no version of SugarCRM has it. You could use the Quotes module (Pro version) as a starting point.

    Best regards,

    David
