Hide/show a single field based on role

Hello, I have searched everywhere on the web to see if there's a way to hide a field in a sugar module.

What I mean is that in accounts, I have a field that has the yearly contract amount, and I don't want other users to see it, but I want them to see the rest of the information.

Can you please help me or give me some advice on what to do.

You can't do it through built-in functionality, but you might be able to pull this off via some custom programming using the logic hooks. Not sure if you'd be able to completely remove the field from view, but you should be able to at least mask the value.

This would be a customization that you would have to do yourself by changing the underlying source. However I believe 5.0 is supposed to have this functionality in it.

Hi, all.

You can create a new view into modules/YourModule/views/

This way you can take control and decide displaying or not some specific field.
You can browse the default system views and understand how they work.
