Default Hoe to send emails to a target list of leads that did not read campaign email.

    Hello

We only started using Sugar a little over a month or so ago so it is very possible I have just missed how to do this.

    We are running:

SugarCRM Pro 5.2.0f - build 5688 - hosted solution on Sugar servers.
    Category - Reports

When we send campaign emails out the leads are auto-marked as having been sent the campaign email and, when applicable, that they read the email.

What we would like to do is send out a campaign email to those people that were sent prior emails but DID NOT read them. I can easily generate a report of those that read the email but NOT for those that received but did not read.

    To recreate:

    1. click on "reports"
    2. click on "create reports"
    3. click on "rows and columns report"
    4. click on "leads" - this brings you to the "define filters" section of creating a report
    5. click on "campaign logs" from the "related modules" window
    6. click on "Activity type" from the "available fields" window
    7. in the upper right section of the the report section yo see "Leads > CampaignLog > Activity Type" along with 2 drop down menus.

The first menu gives the options of "is", "one of", "is empty" and "is not empty"
The second menu gives several options including "message sent/attempted" and "viewed message"

Here is where the problem comes in. We want to create a report for those people that were sent the campaign email but are listed as having not viewed the email.

So we need the first drop down to be "is not equal to" and the second drop down to be "viewed message"

Unfortunately there is no "is not equal to"

When a lead has viewed a campaign email it listed that they have both "message sent/attempted" and "viewed message" under the "activity type". This means I cannot simply select everything but the "viewed message"

I'm guessing I'm not the first to ask this but I cannot find it in the wiki or other forum posts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Jim

I assume you are right without having checked it. But there may be a simple workaround:
Create a new campaign (what you have to do anyway) and use your original target list. Then look for the "viewed message" panel on the status screen of your old campaign. Press "add to target list" and make this (beforehand created) second target list a suppression list and add it to your campaign. This should do the trick.

    Thanks Robert !

I didn't realize we could do suppression lists. That does make it much easier. I will play around with that later tonight.

    Thanks again,

There is a better way to do this and much more.

We have created a customization, where you can select any executed Email Campaign and then create target list based on the selected campaign’s “Click thru Link” / “Viewed Messages” "Delivered but not viewed" emails. Accordingly a new target list is created.

The good thing is that when this new email campaign is executed, the latest Opt-Out email list will act as email filter for sending emails.
