Does anyone know of a way that we can lock a user's home module. What we would like to do is create a template version and lock user's availability to modify their view. The goal is for all sales rep to have a consistent view of their business.

Login as Admin and access the Admin panel. Select "System Settings"
Enabling the option "Prevent user customizable Homepage layout" will prevent users from modifying that view, but it will be applicable to all users.

I should have noticed that! thank you. One question related to this: Everytime I create a new user I will have to uncheck this option, log in as the new user, make changes to the Home page (to be consistant with all my other users), then disable the option to make home page changes. Is this correct? Is there a way to have a template (I tried duplicate account, but that did not affect the home page layout - just some user info). Does anyone know of a way to have a new user template in terms of the Home page module?
Right (re: Login/Logout)
As for copying the settings of another user, you could try copying the corresponding rows from the user_preferences, but you might have to play around with it a bit before you can get it to the point of being able to use it as a template mechanism. That's about the only way that I can think of doing that.
