Default how to add Assigned to field

Hi, is there a way to add an extra "assigned to" field? Basically what i am trying to do is associate multiple staff with the account/contact. So you would have the account owner and also the account owners assistant as account owners and i could then trigger workflow accordingly. i am using the community edition.
    thanks
    jon

It is possible to do, but requires a little trickery as there really isn't a built in method for doing it. In short, you would add a custom relate field via Studio and then manually adjust the database entry that defines that field to connect to the users module versus whatever it is you connected it to when you initially create it.

Note that this would NOT be respected by Sugar's security model, although, it is possible to do that part as well, but it would not be upgrade-safe.

Well, it is a bit difficult for me to gauge whether or not your approach is the correct one as I am not clear on your ultimate goal.

If your intention is to simply be able to denote multiple users as having some sort of relationship with the record in question, then yes.

If, however, you want that field to behave like the default Assigned To field (security, calendar, et al.), then, no. Per my previous reply, Sugar would not respect that second field (without further, non-upgrade safe customizations).
