    Default How to add modulos to search function on top?

    Hello, after using Sugar for more than one year now, one of my user came complaining that the new module that I have just deployed was not showing on the search function. I scratch my head trying to figure out what search is not working. Then she goes into Sugar and type on tthe top right corner in the search engine that I have never used (I just use the search from inside each module).

    Then I notice that engine just search on four modules, and my question is:
    Can I add more modules to be searched by that engine? How do I do it?

    Regards,

    Apache Server v.2.0

    You need to edit the module vardefs.php and add the attribute

    'unified_search' => true,

    just after the 'table' attribute.
    And then add the attribute 'unified_search' => true

    inside definition for all fields you would like to search for on Unified Search.

    Then you need to go to Admin -> Repair -> Quick Repair and Rebuild

    Hello Andre, I did what you told me and I couldnt get it to work. What I notice is that more modules have that 'unified_search' => true on their vardefs but arent showing on the search function (like Call module).

    The four modules / options that appear on the search function shouldnt be changed? It always appear the same four modules to search.

    Hi Leo

    It seems the file cache/modules/unified_search_modules.php is not been reloaded.
    Delete it and try again.

    Another way to go about it is to explain to the user that they'll get quicker search results if they instead went to the module and searched for it directly there. So for performance reasons it's not included in the unified search.

    I'm guessing that the custom module isn't really a "person" type module which would be even another way to explain away why it's not in the unified search.
