How to associate assets with accounts

I'm new here so maybe this has been covered -- apologies in advance, but I couldn't find it.

Anyway, I'm using 4.5.1d. I have created some accounts and contacts and added some history. How do I add assets to the account -- e.g. things our customers have bought and hence thing we need to support? I could create cases, but this doesn't seem right.

Any pointers welcome.

I am going to be looking for the same sort of thing - I am currently looking at adding additional fields via the Studio and using Cases or perhaps adding another module via the module builder.
If no one replies as to a better method may be we could pool ideas and use the Module builder - anyone else interested?

Hi all, just FYI that Sugar Professional and Enterprise editions contain a Products module and products can be linked to Accounts as assets. You can see this in the online demo.

There is a Products and Quotes project on SugarForge that may address this requirement although I don't know off the top if Products are bound to Accounts in this module. (There are no screenshots.)
