Default How to associate Project with Account Name

Sorry to post here too, but after several days, I've gotten no answer from the Project Management forum.

I've Googled for an answer to my question and searched these forums, but I'm not finding what I need. So if there is pre-existing information on this, I'd appreciate you pointing me to it.

I need to be able to associate an Account name with a Project when I create the Project.

    I've tried creating fields, etc...

Is there a way to do this?

Default Re: How to associate Project with Account Name

Here's how to do it, if anybody else runs into this issue:

    1. Click the "admin" link.
    2. Scroll down and click the "Studio" link.
    3. Scroll down and click the "Projects" *icon*.
    4. Click the "Fields" icon.
    5. Click the "Add Field" button.
    6. In the Properties editor on the panel on the right side of the screen...
    A. Choose "Relate" from the Data Type dropdown menu.
    B. For field name, type: accountName
    C. *Change* display label to: Account Name
    D. Make sure the "Module" dropdown is set to "Account"
    E. Select "Required Field" checkbox.
    F. Select "Audit" checkbox
    G. Set "Duplicate Merge" to Disabled (if it is not already)
    H. Leave everything else blank
    G. Click the "Save" button in the Properties Editor
/* accountname_c should now appear in the left panel */

    7. Click the back arrow in the left panel.
    8. Click the "Layouts" icon.
    9. Click the "Edit View" icon
    10. Drag a "New Row" over to the Layout Preview. (I think it looks good just below the "Name" row)
    11. Drag the "Account" element over to your newly created row.
    12. Click "Save and Deploy"
    13. Click the Back Arrow on your *Browser*
    14. Click the "Detail View" icon.
    15. Repeat steps 10-13.
    16. Click the "List View" icon.
    17. Drag the "Account" component from the "Hidden" column to the "Default" column.
    18. Click "Save and Deploy"
    19. Click the Back Arrow on your Browser.
    20. Click the "Quick Create" icon.
    21. Repeat steps 10-12.
    22. All Done! Now click the "Projects" Tab.
    23. Click "Create Project" in the Shortcuts panel
    24. Now you can select an account. (If none appears, create some accounts.)
