Question How to automatically import a leads CSV?

    Hello,

my shopping cart is capable of uploading every new customer to an FTP server as a CSV file.
No, it'd like to import this file twice daily and delete it afterwards.
Would that (or something similar) somehow be possible with SugarCRM?

    I found this:
» How To Set Up Workflows | Blog Archive | SugarCRM Knowledge Base
But my Sugar doesn't have a workflow link (6.2 community edition).
Just Schedulers, but it doesn't look like as if they could do my job!?

    Thanks in advance
    Chris

Workflow is only part of Professional and Enterprise edition. However, even if you did have access to it, it wouldn't address your need as it doesn't have a method for automating imports.

You could use scheduler and a custom written script to do it, or you can also use something like Talend to do it.

Question Re: How to automatically import a leads CSV?

    I see.
So Talend would be my best bet I guess.

    What would you recommend:
Connect to the MySQL db directly or injecting the data via SOAP?
It's just very few lines, maybe twice a day or so - no performance killer at all.

Direct access to database never is the best choice.
I recommend injecting the data via SOAP.
