How can I create a new text box?

Hello to all. I am trying to add a new text box in contacs module with Studio. First, I create custom field as text, wth 9 characters, and marked as rquired field, audit and duplicate merge as enabled. This field is for getting a unique id number for each contact (in Spain is called DNI for people and NIF for enterprises, and its unique).
Then, I add this field to Contacts module, and I see it when I am in studio (edit Layout). I save and published it but when i am going to create a new contact this niew field does not appear. But in Studio it appears.
I am working with bitrock 4.5.0c

You have to edit the layout for BOTH DetailView AND EditView.
Sounds like you only added to DetailView.
