Default How can I import Annual Revenue and Employee size fields on the lead import process?

    Hello,

My source database has two critical fields that I need to import "Annual Revenue and Employee Size". The lead import drop down list does not include these two fields as an option. I need to be able to import thesm as they are critical to our marketing programs. I know that the solution to this must be very simple but I have run out of ideas.

    Thanks.

    Hello Czrrin,

Do you want these 2 fields to convert into the Accounts module when you convert the Lead? If so, you have 2 options:

    1. You will need to hard code these fields into the Leads module with the same data type and database name as the 2 fields in the accounts module.

    2. You can create these 2 fields in Studio for both the Leads and the Accounts. You would need to replace the 2 existing fields in Accounts with the custom field.

Fields from the Leads module convert to an Account or Contact record when there is a field in both Leads and Accounts/Contacts with the same database name and type. When you create a field in Studio, it automatically adds _c at the end of the name, so you cannot just create these fields for the Leads module and have it convert to the existing Account fields.

Thanks, finally an answer. The scenario you mention is exactly what I need, two fields in the lead section that will be transferred when the lead is converted. Except for one thing, the two fields I want converted are already listed on the Accounts, Annual Revenue and Employees. I would only need to create them under leads and have them somehow mapped to Accounts. Any suggestions?

    Hello Czrrin,

Except for one thing, the two fields I want converted are already listed on the Accounts, Annual Revenue and Employees. I would only need to create them under leads and have them somehow mapped to Accounts.
As i mentioned, Annual Revenue and Employees are already fields in the Accounts module. If you create 2 custom fields in the Leads module using Studio, they will save as:
    annual_revenue_c
    employees_c i

    instead of:
    annual_revenue
    employees

In order for fields in the leads module to convert into the Accounts or Contacts modules, the fields must have the same database name and field type.

    So your 2 options are:
    1. create custom fields Annual Revenue and Employees in the leads module using Studio. Also create these fields in the Accounts module, and replace the existing Annual Revenue and Employees fields,

    2. Hard code the Annual Revenue and Employees fields into the Leads module so that the _c does not appear.
