How can I omit converted leads in list view?

I know you can filter for a certain status, but is there a way to filter for everything except for a certain status. When I have converted a lead, I don't want to have to delete it because there is a lot of information that is not passed on to the contact or opportunity when it is converted. But at the same time, when I'm trying to efficiently work my leads - I don't want to have to sift through all the converted leads, especially once they start getting to be in the 100's or 1000's. Is there something I am missing?

You'll have to edit the create_list_view_query (I think that's the name) in the Lead.php file to NOT include the status of 'Converted'.
