Default How can I see detail view?

This is a newbie question, but i am a newbie.
I install SugarCRM in Win2003 server, and I have created a customer module. I have defined the fields and layouts for all the views.
But after deployment, i can see edit view and list view. But I cant see detail view, or rather i dont know how detail view looks like, as I have never see it work.
    Can anybody help please.

Note: I set up the edit view and detail view layout the same. I just remove one field in detail view so i can distinguish which is which in end user view. But don't knw how i should access this

    Hi,

There are three views in SugarCRM.

    1. Editview --> which is show the entry / edit the records
    2. Detailview ---> which is show the detail information of the particular records.
    3. Listview --> which show all the records in the modules.

So, when you enter the records in EDITVIEW then you press the save button, page move on to the DETAILVIEW page after it that will be gone in LISTVIEW.

At the last i didn't understand what is exactly the problem you face, could you please tell in detail ?

Default Re: How can I see detail view?

Its fine now, i had to change the listviewdefs.php by adding 'link' => true , command in a selected field, to get a link to click on so I can enter detail view. For some reason this is not by default when you create a custom module from scratch, I got this direction from some other post in the forum. Thanks
