Default How to change timeout values

    Hi All,

I'm very new to SugarCRM and installed the Community version on a pretty slow machine. My problem is that though I don't mind my page loading from Sugar very slowly, somebody in the software stack doesn't like it and says -

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in <...> on line <...>

on almost all of the links I try to access from the admin Home page.

Can somebody please tell me how to disable the timeout (Or may be increase it to a larger number?)

    Thanks!

go to php.ini which will be somewhere in your webserver
    and search for the following

    max_execution_time =

and increase it ... this will solve your problem

A bit more information that I've gleaned from other sources that might help here:

The value for max_execution_time is measured in whole seconds, so a value of 60 is a timeout of one minute and a value of 600 is ten minutes.

My experience of setting a very high value (measured in hours) is that it was ignored and the low default value applied instead. I don't know if this php itself or my hosting provider protecting their servers.
