How to check duplicated email?

Is there a way to check duplicated email address before adding a new contact ??

Should I need to write logic hook script ??

What would you want it to do if there was a duplicate email? Which one is right? are they both right? Or do you just error out and make the user go and change the other one before allowing them to enter this one?

You could write a logic_hook but it couldn't really give feedback to the user very easily. It could just blank out the email field or something like that.

As you said ... if i just want to blank out the email field, how to do it by using logic hook ??
