how to create a field in a custom module like name in contact module

Hello eb, I need to create a field with the poperties of name an last_name in my own custom module,
Why? because I wanna have a field that show the detailview when click over (for example a ID CARD or Passport) and show all personal information of the user in the detail view like name in contact module...
when i see the list view in contact i can click in name and see the datail view, I wanna make this in my student custom module and see the datilview to...

Hi,
you should create your custom "student" module as a new custom module of type PERSON. This will automatically provide name and last name fields in your module and if you click on them from listview, the detail page will open up.
