how to create new index?

hi ... i have following problem:

i import many contacts and accounts ...

first the accounts ... and this creates many duplicates, cause i have many accounts twice or more often in the database ...

now my question? wouldnt it be the easiest way to define the account-name as an index?

how would this be possible? i didnt find any reference in the vardefs ....but it must be possible ... maybe i am looking again in the wrong direction ... like always =D

Maybe by adding this line in the vardef file for the account-name field:
'duplicate_merge'=>'enabled'

hi, i managed it in another way ...

i created a new column in my csv-file and used md5-hashes from account name as id =)

works fine for me, and i dont need to change the source =)
