How to define a sales territory

Hi,

is it somehow possible to define a sales territory?
One Contact has got a special sales territory. How should I best define it?
Has anybody done something like this before?

Hi Chris,

it depends how you want to use the sales territory. If it is just to define what territory a contact or account fits under, then you can just create a territory dropdown field.

If you want to use territory to restrict which of your users can view certain records, then you might want to use team security (if you are using Pro or Ent. or else you can customize or download a team security)

Team Security? Yes, I've read about it, but maybe a dropdown works fine. I'll try it first.
