Default How do I import to SugarCRM on Windows 2 modules that developed on SugarCRM/Linux

    Hi,

I started using SugarCRM a couple of days ago on Linux. After various technical problems today, including the inability to start mysqld_safe, I came up to the conclusion that Linux is not yet ready for prime time for small business owners whose native language is not sockets, ports and deamons.

I created 2 zip files, once for each module, from the modules directory in SugarCRM, and emailed them to myself. After installing a new SugarCRM on Windows, how do I import those 2 modules into the SugarCRM/Windows.

    Thanks,

    Abdenour

If you followed the format for module loader, (at http://www.sugarcrm.com/crm/support/...n.html#1670714) then you should be able to just import them using that. If you didn't, generally you can create a manifest file that tells Sugar where to install the files to. It should be in the documentation.

Thanks Robert for the link. The mistake I made was that I zipped the modules directories, instead of the custom/.../packages directory, which has the manifest files in it. After zipping that directory, I was able to install it with a fresh installation of SugarCRM on a hosted server.
