How do I prevent users from seeing records in dashlets?

I am currently using Sugarcrm 4.5.1e OS
The "My Leads" And "My Opportunities" dashlets list records for all assigned users.
The user role is set to list and view own records.
I have tried checking show only my records but it has no effect.
Is there something im missing?

Are you logged in as admin? If not, if you edit the dashlet (click on the pencil) and check My Items Only does it work then? If so, it may be a bug.

I am not logged in as admin.
I setup an account that is in a role that allows only view / list own leads.
Logged in under that account i have clicked the pencil and checked view my records only. as well as unchecking it and selecting my name as the assigned to: user. Either way it still lists all records. the records listed are not clickable when they are listed, showing me that the role is assiging the proper edit permissions.
