Hi,

I've got a single selection field which decides whether some date fields should be editable. So far, I've worked out how to do this user friendly and flexible, but not where to put the code:
  • JavaScript to enable/disable the field on the fly based on the selection field value.
  • PHP to reset the date values in the DB if the selection field value isn't such as to allow editing of the date fields.


Using version 4.5.1b. I'd like to add this functionality to the "Opportunities" edit interface. The viewing interface is not affected.

Bonus points if the solution will survive upgrades of the system
