How to get results from Open Tasks Dashlet?

I am running 5.1, most features work.

The dashlet for "My Open Tasks" does not ever return any input. I have tried setting different filters for it, and not setting any of them. Nothing ever comes back.

I have about 50 tasks assigned to different projects and none of them come in there. Is this a fundamental difference between "project tasks" and "tasks"? The reason I am confused about the line between them is that the options for my "tasks" are the same.

If they are different things, (according to studio they are), then is there a way to get the project tasks dashlet to return all of the tasks assigned to me regardless of status?

Thank you for your help in advance. I have been made "Sugar manager" at my company and am trying to learn all of this quickly as we are about to get two new employees and it will be up to me to train them on Sugar.

Hi!

When i was first stating i did got confused by this too.
Project Tasks and Tasks are diferent things and you have a module for eache one of them.
You can add a Dashlet called "My Open Tasks" For the tasks
and a dashlet called "My Project Tasks" for the project tasks.
When seting up a filter you can select any king of record, regardless of it's status! Are you sure you have permission to see these records? if you doesn't have any permission those records will not be displayed. A good way to see if the dashlet is having problems is to try doing the same filter you did on the dashlet on the list view of the module. if you can see the records on the list view your dashlet migth be having a problem.

If you didn't change any configurations of the dashlet, it should work just fine!
