How to import role in opportunity relationship?

Hi,

We have over 600 opportunities, each opportunity contains several contacts in the sub panel.

It's very inconvenient to view the contact's title by clicking each contact and get the title inside of his/her profile, so we decided to use the ''Role'' as the contacts' titles. We customize the ''opportunity_relationship_type_dom'' in dropdown list editor. using ''Director'' ''Partner'' ''Principal'' ''Marketing Manager''etc instead of default ''decision maker'' etc.

The question is: can we import the ''Role'' information from spreadsheet? or the only way is to edit individual contact and select the role manually...

Yes, you can import values into any dropdown field using the database or display field names.

This amazes me. Isn't the contact's role defined for each of its relationships to an opportunity? How can you then import a contact's role with a contact? It's only defined for a relationship with an opportunity, right?

Maybe I'm not quite getting this.
