How to record products sold?

I would like to be able to track who bought our products and how many. Sometimes the customer buys one and likes it and buys it again so I'll need to be able to keep track of both sales.

I've been looking all over for Products Module but it's not in my Admin.

I am using SugarCE 5.1.0RC (Build 4469

I'm sure that someone has created something similar to this. I tried my hand at Module Builder but none of the choices matches what I wanted to do.

I was tempted to create a drop down field in Accounts, but it will not help me record repeat sales. I believe a new Module is in order so that we can identify repeat buyers.

Hello JSG,

there is a Products and Quotes module available with Pro/Ent. This is not built into the CE version of Sugar.

You could take a look at the Sugar Forge to see if anything meets your needs: http://www.sugarforge.org/softwarema...p?form_cat=347

You also have the option of customizing your Sugar instance to create custom fields in an existing module (ex: if you are not using one of the modules, you could re-purpose it for use as a products module which links to the Accounts and/or Contacts modules already), or to create a new custom module altogether.

On a lark, I did try the demo of PRO and I see and played around the Products Module. It is exactly what we're looking for!

I'm trying to upload Sales OpenSource but am experiencing Module Uploader problem (http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showt...6&page=1&pp=10).

This is a huge roadblock that I may consider just looking for another CRM if this is not resolved soon.

Update: Finally fixed the bug, but seems OpenSource is dead.
