    Default How to save outgoing emails in IMAP Sent Items folder

    Hello all

    I have a nagging problem that I can't seem to solve.

    We're using SugaarCRM community 5.1 on Linux/Apache

    We're using the email module with IMAP emal accounts for different people.

    Any email sent from within SugarCRM is not saved in the Sent Items folder on the IMAP server. It is only saved in the Sent Emails folder within sugar, which means that we can not access our emails sent from within Sugar in our regular email clients like outlook.

    I have selected the "Sent Items" IMAP folder within email settings but it still doesn't use this folder. It seems like there's a global setting somewhere that's preventing SugarCRM to save outgoing messages to the IMAP server.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    When you configure an Inbound Account, there is sent folder text box with the select button. Click on that button to select the sent folder and then compose any email from sugar then in the dropdown list of the from field, you need to select this Inbound Account and then it will save that email in the selected sent folder of the inbound email account.

    Hi Samir,

    Under "Settings > Mail accounts > Sent Folder" I have clicked the select button, which shows all available IMAP folders, includint the "Sent Items" folder. This is selected and shows int he text box after saving settings. But even so, all outgoing messages are saved only in "Sent Email" folder local to Sugar CRM and NOT on the IMAP server itself. I have tried this for 2 users within Sugar and it just doesn't work. Any other ideas?

    Hi -- I have the same problem. I've selected the IMAP sent box, in settings (in fact, it seems to select it automatically, which is quite cool). However, despite having saved this setting, emails are only stored in the Sugar sent folder.

    it works for me this way, have you actually subscribed to the folder also?

    Yes, I have subscribed to the "Sent Items" folder as well and it does show up in the folder list and shows the emails that are there (sent from my other email client) but Sugar won't save outgoing messages to the IMAP server at all. I have tried creating another folder just named "sent" and setting that up as the sent folder but still Sugar only saves messages in it's own local sugar-only folders.

    This is very disappointing as any emails we send from SugarCRM are not available outside of Sugar and we may actually have to stop using SUGAR for email because of this limitation.

    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Did you do this ??

    compose any email from sugar then in the dropdown list of the from field, you need to select this Inbound Account and then it will save that email in the selected sent folder of the inbound email account.

    This is indeed the top tip to see the Sent mail via Imap, thanks a lot.

    I noticed in the drop down box I have 2 e-mail accounts I can sent from.

    Both have exactly the same name, but only the lower one seems to put the sent mail into the IMAP mail folder.

    I can't find how or where 2 e-mail got configured, if that is the problem.

    How can I get this down to just one, so I don't need to select it every time? Or is there a way to set which one is the default account?
