How to Search Custom fields

Hi all

I have created custom fields in contact module but when i perfrom Search from main Search option it is not displaying

anybody can resolve

You have to edit the layout of that module in Studio, and add the custom fields to the SEARCH PAGE layout...

Like how? I have edited leads layout and there is no option to even see the search fields let alone edit them - running 4.5.0c - how could sugar miss this? Seems like the most basic function as everyone wants to at least add one custom field and have it searchable.

Try this:

go to: Admin | Studio | Edit Module | Contacts | Edit Custom Fields

You will want to create your custom fields here. Don't forget to save.
Once finished go one step [Back] and and click Edit Layout. At the top of this form you will see:

Layouts: Detail View | Edit View | List View | Search Form

What you want to do here is edit the List View layout. Drag & drop your custom field to the "Default" section. Don't forget to [Save and Publish]. You will likely want to edit Detail / Edit / Search Form layouts as well.

Once finished you should be able to view, sort and search any of your custom fields. Even though the setup may seem a bit awkward once you go through setting it up it brings quite enjoyable experience! Hope this helps,

These are the options I get - am i missing something as the seach form option doesnt appear on any page I try and edit?
